Money Saved Can Be Used For Paying Auto Insurance & Road Tax Renewal Fees

Hubby’s school holiday break is over and it’s his first day back to school today. This also means that I am back to waking up at 5.30 am, doing exercise and cutting back on spending again.

Speaking of spending, our 6D 5N trip to the city was quite a success as we spent less than we thought.

Let me recall now in details what we spent on and how much each spending was.

On the first day, we started our journey in the evening. Hubby stopped at a petrol station for a refill. It’s RM60 and would be paid by hubby’s school.

After 2 hours, we stopped at a food court and had our dinner there. The dinner was about RM15.

Upon reaching my uncle’s house, we were brought to a cafe for supper. Well, it’s more like a gathering for the family. Gosh! When the bill came, it was RM210! Of course, I was not worried at all, it’s footed by my youngest aunt’s hubby.

On the second day, hubby and I woke up very early, about 5 something. Hubby was starving so we went for breakfast at a coffee shop nearby my uncle’s house. We had a cup of tea and a few slices of bread; the breakfast was about RM8.

After breakfast, we met up with other family members and went hiking up a hill. It’s a tiring but enjoyable hike.

Right after that, we went for breakfast with our family members. Again, we didn’t have to pay. It’s great to have family members who are rich and generous, right?

We had lunch at home. Hubby played Mahjong with my aunts and lost RM100! Well, he had to lose to my aunts because I was going to stay at my aunt’s house for free for a few days. Free accommodation and free meals, you know. :-)

What about dinner? Again, it’s a treat by my youngest aunt’s hubby. My youngest aunt’s hubby is a very down-to-earth millionaire who lives and wears just like the next door uncle.

Do you know why he loves treating me and hubby meals whenever we meet up? It’s because hubby and I are willing to eat out and have a long chat with him.

He once told us that he had loads of money, but the kids were so busy with their jobs and friends that none of them was willing to eat out with him and my aunt.

Okay, after dinner, hubby drove to a hostel to check in. Yes, it’s a hostel, not hotel. The hostel accommodation would be paid by hubby’s school.

Hubby said he managed to sneak out and shop for a while at night. He spent less than RM100 on some discounted trousers and shampoo.

On the third, fourth and fifth day, hubby was at the seminar and all his meals would be paid by his school. As for me, I had my meals at my aunt’s house. Free meals.

Although I went out very often with my sisters, they were the ones who insisted on making the payments. I remember what my younger sister told me when she was alone with me, “It’s fine that sister and I pay now. Whoever is able, who pays. If I am in debt next time, your turn to pay and treat me.

On the fifth night, hubby finished his seminar and left the hostel. He had dinner alone because I had already had mine at home. He spent less than RM20.

On the sixth day, it’s still free breakfast for both hubby and me. We left my uncle’s house before noon. We stopped for lunch and it cost RM6.

Thanks to my family members that hubby and I didn’t have to spend much during our 6D 5N in the city. The money saved can be put aside for the auto insurance and road tax renewal fee amounting to RM700, which is going to due in September.

There are also small changes that I can insert into my piggy bank. You know, small penny and dollar savings add up in long run.
