Install New Phone Line & Streamyx Combo 1.0Mbps Accounts

Another week has passed and it’s Christmas next Friday! For the next two weeks, hubby and I are going to be pretty busy with packing, applying new phone line and Streamyx broadband access accounts and moving.

It’s possible to transfer my existing phone number and Internet connection accounts to my new address, but I don’t want to. Once bitten, twice shy.

I don’t want the horrible history to repeat! It’s a total nightmare to have dealt with Telekom, TMNet and Streamyx in 2008 when hubby and I moved back to hubby’s little hometown and had the broadband access account transferred to the new address.

Not only did we waste more than a month waiting for the transfer, we also had to keep paying the monthly Internet connection fee while using the dial-up service temporarily. It’s RM66, plus more than RM450!

Did I call TMNet so that they sped up their work or process? Yes, almost every day!

Did I submit a report? Yes, I did. And I called to check if the internet line was transferred successfully almost every day. Each time, there was a different reason given: still in progress, checking the port, technician was doing the transfer, and the most ridiculous one, no more port because too many Streamyx users.

Guess what? They closed the report after 30 days, saying that they couldn’t find the solution. I was really speechless when I heard this.

Actually they could have just said frankly that I should close my old account and open a new one. Their customer service staff shouldn’t have persuaded me to do the transfer if they couldn’t deliver their work.

In the end, I closed my Streamyx account and opened a new one with a Streamyx authorized agent at a computer store nearby my place. Guess what? I was online the next day.

This time I will make sure that the flat’s new phone and Streamyx line accounts work before I close my existing ones. I would rather waste another month’s monthly internet connection fee than paying the dial-up connection service.

Hubby’s buddy who is a Streamyx authorized agent recommends us one of the Zero Entry Streamyx Combo packages – Streamyx Combo 1.0Mbps that costs RM110 per month.

There is NO activation fee of RM75 and NO installation fee of RM88. Hubby’s buddy said the latest promotion of WAIVED activation and installation fees was because of fierce competition from P1 W1MAX. Serve you right, TMNet!
