How To Save Money Creatively In Time Of Recession


Recession is here. With business owners closing their stores, prices for practically everything rising, friends being laid off and family members being given pay cuts, it’s clear that recession has come and shall stay for a while or longer.

I think this is the first time I have ever felt the recession is impacting me; other recessions in decades past had no effect on me at all as I was still young.

Besides my credit card debt, this 2009 recession has also got me to tighten my purse strings to the max to save more money.

Helpful tips for saving money are everywhere. Magazines, newspapers and the Internet all teach you clever or creative ways to save a buck here and a dollar there.

Cooking your own meals, moving back to live with parents, checking out movies from the library, shopping at thrifty shops, re-using tissues, making your own fabric softener sheets by recycling old washcloths, …

So long as you are are willing to learn, there are endless creative ways to save a few dollars here and a few cents there.
