Collect Lost Change To Add It To Emergency Fund

I started inserting small notes into my piggy bank in February. As of today, I don’t know how much money I have dropped into the piggy bank. :-)

Hopefully, there will be a few hundred dollars or even RM1,000 by the end of the year. This way my emergency fund will add up fast in order to achieve the $1,000 goal. $1,000 equals to RM3,550.

Each time I insert RM3 or RM5. When my online income increases, I drop RM10 into the piggy bank.

The other day, I chanced upon a blog called The New York City Changepot. The family has the habit of picking up any change they happen to find in the streets of New York.

Each time they chance upon a dime here or a penny there, they scoop it and toss it in their jar.

You know, the lost change they had collected for 3 years added up to $1032.46. As for year 2009, they have collected $83.96.

What a fantastic way to find money! $1032.46 in three years!

Perhaps I should also collect lost change and then add it to my emergency fund.
