Thank God that my PayPal withdrawal fund status is showing ‘Complete’ now! Woo Hoo! I am going to see the fund in my debit card account next week.

I did the fund withdrawal on November 17 and when I saw that the money was still not in my debit card account on the 21st, I felt that something’s wrong.

I logged into my PayPal account and was surprised that the status of the withdrawal was still showing ‘Pending’. You know, it normally takes a day only for the status to change from ‘Pending’ to ‘Complete’.

Instead of waiting for a few more days, I decided to send an email to PayPal. In a few hours, I received a reply from the PayPal’s customer support department.

It seemed that I was not the only one whose fund was still in ‘Pending’ status. I was asked to wait for a few days. If the money was still pending after 7 days from the initial transaction, I had to contact them again and they would help me deal with it.

You know, if this had happened before I enrolled in AKPK debt management programme, I would have worried to death! Why? I was so in need of the money to pay my credit card payments then.

I still remember the PayPal glitch that happened last September. I was still waiting for the approval of my AKPK application when my PayPal fund arrived late in my Tune Money Visa debit card. It took 38 days!

You won’t understand how worried I was during those weeks waiting for the money to pay the overdue credit card payments, utility bills, and car and home loan instalments.

And on top of that, I had to face with the possibility that my AKPK DMP would not be approved due to my online income statements.

September 2008 was a very stressful month for me!

This time I am not as worried and stressful. I have some savings in my personal saving account that I can use should there be any unexpected expenses. Touch wood! Who wants unexpected expenses?

I am grateful that the status of my PayPal fund is showing ‘Complete’ now. I am also relieved that PayPal glitch only happens once in a year.

Am I considered lucky to be able to escape from the new RM50 service tax a year on every principal credit card and charge card since I am now in AKPK debt management programme? So is hubby

Imagine how much annual service tax hubby and I had to pay if we still had the 15 credit cards!! 15 principal credit cards from 6 banks. Phew, it’s RM750!

According to financial analysts, it is predicted that at least 30% of the holders of 11 million cards in circulation who have more than one card will have to pay RM100 every year.

You know, the applications for new credit cards dropped by 80% following the Government’s announcement of the service tax starting 2010.

Don’t you think this new imposition is good to those who are thinking of applying credit cards? It scares them off and thus they carry no credit cards. No credit cards mean no credit card debts, right?

When there are no credit card debts, people will have no reason to turn to non-performing loans, short-term loans, personal loans, debt consolidation loans, AKPK debt management programs, or bankruptcy easily.

It’s also good to those of you who have stacks of credit cards; you are forced to reduce the number of cards you own. Having fewer credit cards means you have to cut down on spending, retail purchases and impulse buying.

Also, you get to learn to use cash and debit cards. As a credit-card-debt woman who is in AKPK’s debt management plan, I must say that I love using cash and debit card now.

I have had two debit cards, Public Bank Visa debit card and Tune Money Visa debit card. Both cards are not used for retail purchases. Noop. They are only used for collecting PayPal money from my online income.

Since PayPal has now allowed Malaysians to link their PayPal accounts to their Malaysian banks or overseas banks operating in Malaysia, I think I can totally stop using and renewing my Tune Money Visa debit card.

As for the Public Bank Visa debit card, I will keep on using as a backup for PayPal fund withdrawals.

I have stopped using Tune Money Visa debit card for many many months. Instead, I am using Public Bank Visa Electron debit card for PayPal fund withdrawals.

When did I stop using this debit card? Well, after My PayPal Money Was Not In My Tune Money Visa Debit Card and My PayPal Fund Was Only In My Tune Money Visa Debit Card After 38 Days!

It’s NOT Tune Money’s fault that my PayPal fund didn’t arrive within 7 business days. Actually, there was a technical glitch at PayPal that caused the delay.

If it’s not Tune Money’s fault, why did I stop using its debit card? After all, I did claim that Tune Money Visa debit card used to be my lifesaver after my first Public Bank Visa debit card application was rejected.

Well, it’s because I am happy using Public Bank Visa debit card now.

It’s also convenient to transfer my PayPal fund that arrives in my Public Bank Visa debit card into my personal savings account. And then from my personal savings account, I can transfer money to pay my car loan installments and other payments.

And very important is that it’s FREE to withdraw money. As for Tune Money Visa debit card, you are charged RM1.50 for each withdrawal.

My PayPal funds withdrawn on the 15th September finally arrived safely in my Tune Money Visa debit card on the 23rd October. 38 days!

It’s PayPal that caused the delay. Not Tune Money. It’s not Tune Money’s fault, but PayPal.

As my PayPal funds arrived in my Tune Money Visa debit card within 3 business days, I was very confident that it’s not PayPal’s fault. I blamed Tune Money for the delay of my PayPal funds.

I made tons of calls to Tune Money in the hope that they could trace my PayPal funds, but was told by Thilaga the customer service executive that my PayPal funds had not reached the Visa center yet.

Read Why Is My PayPal Money Not In My Tune Money Visa Debit Card Yet? Part 1

Read Why Is My PayPal Money Not In My Tune Money Visa Debit Card Yet? Part 2

Thilaga the customer service executive is the only Tune Money staff that really followed up with my complaint by checking with the finance department, updating me daily and reporting to me the final outcome.

The other day, I tried to withdraw a small amount of PayPal funds into my Tune Money Visa debit card. The money arrived in 3 business days.

I am still using Tune Money Visa debit card for my PayPal withdrawals for the time being while waiting for my new Public Bank Visa electron debit card to arrive next week.

My first Public Bank Visa Electron debit card application was rejected a few months ago. But after the recent delay in PayPal funds, I decided to apply for another debit card as a backup in case something happens to Tune Money Visa debit card.

My application was approved. I am going to get my Public Bank Visa electron debit card in a week or two weeks’ time.

In future, I will take turns withdrawing my PayPal funds into both Tune Money Visa debit card and Public Bank Visa debit card.

Have you read my Part 1 – Why Is My PayPal Money Not In My Tune Money Visa Debit Card Yet?

On Wednesday, 24th, I phoned Tune Money again. Still fixing. I voiced out my concern about Tune Money Visa debit card’s security. The customer care executive assured me that my money wouldn’t be lost. It’s in their system and they were retracting the money.

Today is the 25th. I made my call this morning. Same answer. Still fixing. I am getting more and more disappointed with their speed of handling the issue.

I am so desperate now. My PayPal money is stuck in their system for more than a week.

And my other PayPal money can’t be withdrawn out from PayPal into Tune Money Visa debit card because I am scared. I don’t know if my PayPal money will be stuck in the system again.

I am running out of cash now. My credit card payments and home loan installment were overdue.

Update: Today is the 26th, exactly one week after I lodged my complaint. I phoned to Tune Money’s customer care service this morning. The same answer – would check with the finance department and IT department and then call me.

At 4pm, I called again because the customer care executive who promised to check with the finance department didn’t call me.

Another customer care executive promised to check with the finance department and IT department and then called me back by today. The moment he said that, I couldn’t stand but venting out my anger on him. He’s not lucky.

At 4.45 pm, he did get back to me. But he wanted me to fax my PayPal transaction details to him. I was really pissed off! I faxed it to the very first customer service care executive who attended to my complaint last Friday!

Today is the 27th. I called again. Same answer given -would check with the finance department and call me later. Now I am wondering if the finance department is not doing their work.

Today is the 28th. I decided to drop a comment at CEO of Tune Money Tengku Zafrul’s blog hoping that he would notice my plight and do something about it.

Why is my PayPal money not in my Tune Money Visa debit card yet? Why does Tune Money take so long to fix the system? I am losing out my patience …

I am a credit card debt woman who depends on my online money to pay my expenses, auto and car loan installments, and credit card payments. To be exact, overdue credit card payments.

If you are like me, loaded with credit card debts and rely on online income, you will understand my desperate call now.

It’s funny, isn’t it? Last month, I blogged about how happy I was using Tune Money Visa debit card to withdraw my PayPal money. And this month, I have something to say about Tune Money Visa Debit card.

I didn’t blog about the problem when it happened last week. I waited until today then only I blog it out. If it’s solved in a day or 2, I wouldn’t be interested to blog about it. After all, why frets over tiny technical glitch?

The problem is still not solved yet, so I want to rant a bit.

I withdrew my PayPal money to Tune Money Visa debit card on the 15th. My money normally arrived in 2 or 3 days, meaning which it would be seen on the 17th or the latest 18th.

On the 19th, I gave the Tune Money’s customer care service a call. I was told to fax my PayPal transaction details over and they would submit it to the finance department.

On Monday, 22nd I called to see if they had submitted my complaint. They did. Fine.

On Tuesday, 23rd, I called to check the status of my complaint. I was told that they were waiting for the response from the finance department. In fact, I am not the only one whose money got stuck in their system.

In the afternoon, I saw some CIMB reimbursement fees in my account, meaning which the system was slowly recovering. BUT, where is my PayPal money?

At 10.35 pm, I decided to leave a comment at Tune Money’s CEO Tengku Zafrul‘s blog to highlight the issue. I urged that the technical glitch be solved in a day or 2. It would be bad to his company if online shoppers reloaded their online income or cash into their debit cards, but the money was not there.

I don’t know about you. But to me, a credit card debt woman who makes money online to pay my credit card debt, not seeing my online money in my account always causes me to worry to death.

The next thing that pops up after worrying for a few days is the security issue. Questions like, “Has my PayPal withdrawal been hacked half way?”, “Is Tune Money’s security system strong enough to avoid the money being hacked or transferred away?”, … just pop up.

So far, I am a very happy Tune Money Visa Debit Card user. I am a joyful work-at-home woman who has been able to withdraw my online income from PayPal into my Tune Money Visa debit card and then withdraw cash at any CIMB ATM without any problem.

Tune Money Visa debit card is ‘The Card For Everyone”. As long as you are above 18 years old, you are eligible to apply. No need bank statements or income documents.

Talking about bank statements and income documents, I have to tell you how pissed off I was after my application of Public Bank Visa debit card was rejected.

Public Bank Visa debit card requires bank or income statements in order to be eligible for a debit card. Unbelievable, right?

More annoying is that it’s only a reloadable debit card. You need to load money into the debit card in order to use the money. I really don’t understand why Public Bank rejected my debit card application.

So, if you:

are loaded with credit card debts;

are late in credit card payments;

are self-employed without any valid payslips or income documents;

have no money in your savings accounts; BUT have money in PayPal and would like to withdraw money from PayPal into a Visa debit card.

Don’t bother to apply for a Public Bank Visa Debit Card! Instead get a Tune Money Visa debit card.

As long as you are above 18 years old, you can apply for a Tune Money Visa Debit Card.

It’s been more than 4 months since I used my Tune Money Visa debit card to withdraw my PayPal money at CIMB ATMs.

My husband is also a Tune Money Visa debit card user now.

In brief, I encourage you to apply for a Tune Money Visa debit card if you are like me:

loaded with credit card debts but have stopped using credit cards;

late in credit card payments but still working hard to pay off your credit card debts;

self-employed without any valid payslips or income documents because you earn income online;

have no money in your savings accounts; BUT have money in PayPal and would like to make PayPal withdrawals into a Visa debit card.

I was at Steven Wong’s blog reading his review on Tune Money Visa Debit Card just now. It dawned on me that it’s going to be a very long comment. I might as well write a blog post about Tune Money Visa debit card.

Tune Money Visa debit card is fantastic and is my life saver. I have withdrawn money from PayPal into this Visa debit card many times. Each time is smooth sailing. Definitely a much pleasant experience than using VMI card.

The most amazing thing about Tune Money Visa debit card is that sometimes the money is transfered into the card after 2 business days (48 hours), man! But sometimes, it takes 3 days.

I save a lot of money on transaction fees because of this Tune Money Visa debit card. Previously, I used VMI debit card. Unfortunately, it was banned by PayPal in February, I guess. If you have used VMI debit card before, you know the transaction fee of $5 here, $2 there, and some more $10 monthly fee.

And then due to my poor credit record, Public Bank rejected my debit card application. I was not even applying for a credit card. I was only applying for a debit card. So strict man!

So how to withdraw money? I withdrew the PayPal money into my credit card. Yes, credit card! And when I wanted to use the money, I had to withdraw from the credit card. It’s called CASH ADVANCE. It’s so ridiculous, isn’t it? I withdraw my own money, yet I am charged cash advance fee. For every RM1,000 ($318), I was charged RM50 ($16). RM100 ($32) for RM2,000 ($637)!

You know how painful I was each time I withdrew money from my credit card. My hard-earned money. My hard-earned income. As a working woman who is loaded with more than $13,000 credit card debts, $16 or $32 for transaction fee does kill me.

Fortunately, Tune Money Visa debit card came to my rescue after a few withdrawals from credit card. Each time I withdraw from the card, the transaction is only RM1.15 ($0.37). No matter how much I withdraw, it’s only RM1.15. This only applies to CIMB. Other than CIMB, they will charge RM10.00 ($3.18) for each transaction.

If you would like to know the details about Tune Money Visa Debit Card, read Steven’s review.
