Finally, I am free again to write a post here. You know, I have been busy merging and moving blogs to another server these few days.
Why moving to another server? Well, it came when one night I got a missed call from Hostgator, my web hosting company. Phew, it’s a fortune that I listened to the voice mail that night!
I don’t always listen to voice mails, but that night, thank God, I listened to the voice mail from a phone number that I didn’t know.
When I heard that it’s from ‘HOSTGATOR’, my initial thought was that it’s a prank. I hung up. But then I decided to turn on my computer and check my blogs.
What a shock when I saw nothing for all my blogs! In a lightning speed, I headed to the Support department of HostGator and check if there’s any ticket sent by HG.

Oh, yes, there was! It stated that my hosting account was suspended because one/a few of my WordPress blogs caused over load problem to the server at night. I was advised to do something to my blogs so that HG could enable my account again.
Prior to this incident, I had read that some WP plugins could bring about high load issue to server. To confirm this, I googled and read up a bit.
It seemed that some plugins could cause high load on the MySQL server. A sudden increase in traffic could also be the problem.
As I didn’t know whether the WP plugins really created the havoc, I deactivated most of the plugins and only kept Akismet and WhyDoWork Adsense plugins. There are a few blogs that I still keep the All in One SEO Pack plugin.
Once I deleted all the plugins from my blogs, I replied to HG’s ticket and told them what might have caused the high load problem and what I did to rectify the issue.
